Through my life I've witnessed why it's a such a big deal to marry someone that has the same beliefs as you. My mom is a Christian and my dad isn't...doesn't sound like that big of a deal, but it is.
Just like in dating, if the other person doesn't believe in the same things you do, THEY WILL DRAW YOU DOWN. There's no getting around it, and I've experienced it in a relationship. I watch my mom sit alone in church and then I come home and watch my dad sit alone in the living room. Sunday mornings could possibly be the WORST day for my parents. They share everything in life: love, kids, home, money, laughs, tears, but do they share faith? The one thing that could make them ever so much stronger in life is putting a little "waiting room" or "traffic" in their relationship.
It's probably the saddest thing I've ever witnessed...and I hope that I can learn from their example and not be as lonely on Sunday morning....
